How to Organize Web Pages by Segment and Intent
To better analyze your SEO content performance, you can organize your web pages using Segment (similar themes) and Intent (similar user goals). This is achieved by creating specific Content Groupings for each.
- Segment Groups: Content grouping by similar theme.
- Intent Groups: Content grouping by user intent.
Defining your own segments and intents is a critical step in measuring how different types of content perform.
Before You Begin: > Ensure you have prepared a list of the segments and intents relevant to your website. Having these ready is necessary before performing the following steps.
Here are the steps to follow:

Step 1: Add Content Group To Segment
In the ‘Segment Group’ section, click ‘Configure’.

Enter your content group and click the ‘+’ button on the right. Repeat this step until you have entered all your content groups to the Segment Group. Afterward, click ‘Save Changes’.
If you wish to remove a content group, click the trash icon shown in the image below.
Step 2: Add Content Group To Intent
In the ‘Intent Group’ section, click ‘Configure’.

Enter your content group and click the ‘+’ button on the right. Repeat this step until you have entered all your content groups to Intent Group. Afterward, click ‘Save Changes’.
Note: If you wish to remove a content group in Intent Group, click the trash icon.
Step 3: Download Excel Sheet
Once you have finished adding your content groups to Segment and Intent Group, click ‘Export’ to download the Excel file.
This file will contain your URL list along with all the content groups you provided.

Step 4: Select Content Group From Segment & Intent From Dropdown List
Open the downloaded file, choose the appropriate content group from the Segment and Intent dropdown lists for each URL, and save your changes.
